We are delighted to announce that our ambitious proposal for a new motorway service area ‘Tatton Services‘ at Junctions 7 and 8 of the M56 in Cheshire, has now been submitted to Cheshire East Council.
Tatton Services is a new partnership between the Westmorland Family, owner of Tebay Services on the M6, Gloucester Services on the M5 and Cairn Lodge Services on the M74, and the Tatton Estate. The services will include a ‘fuel barn’ instead of a traditional fuel forecourt, a farm shop and kitchen, drive-thru cafe for short-stay visitors and HGV drivers plus a 100-bed hotel.
The scheme would be focused on sustainability and create 154 full-time jobs, as well as 171 part-time roles.
If plans are approved, the new M56 services would create £4.7million in wages for on-site staff each year. It would also contribute a minimum of £100,000 per year to local charities and community causes.
A planning application has been submitted to Cheshire East Council, which is expected to make a decision in the summer. You can view the application here.
