Protecting, conserving and enhancing our Estate for future generations
The Tatton Estate is the largest private landowner in east Cheshire, responsible for 5,000 acres south of the city of Manchester.
Our Estate includes two villages, about 50 retail and commercial premises and 50 farmsteads as well as a National Nature Reserve and a Site of Special Scientific Interest.
We are passionate about our local communities and take our responsibilities seriously.
We are custodians, but we are also innovators and see our role as protecting, conserving and enhancing our Estate and our wider communities so that we can pass it on to the next generation.
The Tatton Estate has been under the stewardship of the Brooks family since the death without an heir of the last Lord Egerton in 1957 when Tatton Hall and Park were gifted to the National Trust.
Today’s Estate team is responsible for conserving and maintaining some of Cheshire’s most important historical assets, including Peover Hall & Estate and the villages of Rostherne and Bostock Green.
We are proud to play an active role in our local communities, developing and supporting a wide range of initiatives and projects and seeking to make a difference. Many of them are focussed on the environment, local sustainability and health and wellbeing.
We also understand that our world is constantly changing. While we can’t stop this, we can influence and help to shape what tomorrow looks like. Only by doing so, will we create a better place for the generations who come after us.
