The Tatton Estate is proud to announce the launch of the Tatton Estate Fund, as part of a newly formed Tatton Estate Foundation. A new charitable initiative established by the Brooks family to support local people, places and projects that contribute to a brighter, more sustainable future.
Rooted in the values that have shaped the Tatton Estate for generations, the Tatton Estate Foundation at its heart will seek to champion initiatives that:
The Tatton Estate Foundation will look to support projects that demonstrate exceptional potential for long-term social, economic, or environmental benefit. The funding is made possible through an endowment by the Brooks family, including the lease of two estate properties dedicated to generating ongoing income for the Foundation.
Henry Brooks on behalf of the Tatton Estate Foundation, commented:
“The fund made available via the Tatton Estate Foundation formalises and extends our family’s long-standing commitment to the local community. We hope this new chapter will help unlock ideas and initiatives that make a real, lasting difference to the people across Cheshire.”
The fund will be managed by Cheshire Community Foundation, through their various grant programmes. The application process is open to eligible groups and organisations whose work aligns with the Foundation’s grant making principles. Applications from projects based on, close to, or serving communities connected to the Tatton and Peover Estates will be offered to the Tatton Estate Fund for support.
Mel Sproston, CEO of Cheshire Community Foundation said: “We are delighted to build on our relationship with the Tatton Estate by managing this fund. Partnering with us to support the community groups and charities on their doorstep is a fantastic way to demonstrate the Tatton Estate’s values and really make a difference to local people.”
The partnership with Cheshire Community Foundation ensures a fair and robust selection process, informed by over a decade of local grant making expertise. Grant programmes are open on a rolling basis, with full details and guidance available via Grants Archive – Cheshire Community Foundation.
In addition to the grants, the Tatton Estate will continue its tradition of providing practical support for community causes. From the ongoing subsidised use of Estate buildings by clubs and societies, to longstanding donations to events such as the Knutsford May Day and support for groups like the Scouts, Friends of the Heath and the Heritage Centre. This new Fund seeks to identify new opportunities to support the local community.
