Tatton Estate has announced the appointment of Pete Crowther as its new Chief Executive Officer, marking the beginning of a bold new chapter for one of Cheshire’s most dynamic and diverse estates.
The appointment reflects the Estate’s commitment to delivering the next phase of its 20-year legacy strategy. Following a landmark year in 2024 – including the launch of Park Gate Village, outline planning approval for Bluebell Village, and significant environmental progress – the time is right to establish a full-time CEO to lead the vision forward.
Leadership for a Living Legacy
Pete Crowther, brings deep expertise in sustainable development, placemaking and operations, having held senior leadership roles at Bruntwood, one of the UK’s most respected property companies. He is also president of the British Council for Offices. His track record spans everything from large-scale regeneration to customer service excellence and he has a strong understanding of what it takes to deliver long-term, meaningful impact.
He now takes on a unique role at Tatton Estate – a living, working landscape encompassing heritage, housing, environment, farming and enterprise – to help shape a future rooted in purpose, place and people.
“Pete’s appointment is an exciting and pivotal step for the Estate,” said Andrew Rinker, senior executor and trustee of the Tatton Estate. “We’re incredibly proud of what has been achieved in recent years and believe Pete’s vision, values and experience are exactly what’s needed to help us build on that momentum and continue our positive impact into the future.”
Strategy, Stewardship and Sustainable Growth
Crowther’s early priorities will include formalising a clear strategy for the decade ahead and building a high-performing in-house team to help deliver it. His focus will span all parts of the Estate – from community and conservation to innovation, infrastructure and customer excellence.
He will also oversee key priorities already underway, including the stewardship and growth of Tatton Estate’s extensive residential and commercial portfolio. Home to nearly 200 families and a thriving mix of national and independent businesses, the Estate offers everything from workshops and compounds to retail units and offices; all set within vibrant villages and town centres.
Alongside this, Crowther will lead on major projects such as the delivery of Bluebell Village and the expansion of the Estate’s woodland and biodiversity initiatives along with other strategic projects.
“Tatton Estate has a rare combination of ambition, integrity and deep-rooted purpose,” said Crowther. “It’s a place that already means a great deal to so many people, and I see my role as helping to build on that, to shape a clear path ahead, listen well and make sure the Estate continues to evolve in a way that feels right for the communities, businesses and landscapes it supports.”
