BBC Worst Witch - Series 1 - 4
The BBC came to film at the Tatton Estate, using Barley Barn as the castle interior for their successful CBBC drama adaptation of The Worst Witch.
Tolkien
Our studios were also used as housing sets in the Tolkien biopic. The biographical film starred actor Nicholas Hoult in the story of the formative years of writer JRR Tolkien before he wrote The Lord of the Rings.
The Tatton Estate offered the space the production team needed for the shoot, which included trench sets dramatising Tolkien's experiences at The Somme, production office space and facilities for wardrobe and make-up.
